Jim joined the Granted team in 2023 as an experienced professional writer with a varied background and a passion for helping nonprofits realize their missions. Since earning his Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan, Jim worked as a junior-high-school English teacher, a team lead in personal lending, and, most recently, the lead fellow of the grants department at Seaside Sustainability. Jim felt inspired by the passion and dedication he felt during his fellowship with Seaside and now aims to help driven nonprofits find success. When the weather permits, Jim enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, golf, and hiking, and when it doesn’t, he enjoys indoor activities like reading and gaming.
